Stick shift Four on the Floor

I haven't posted much lately and really have no excuse.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I did get a chance to snap a pic yesterday so I thought it would be a great time to introduce you to my new vehicle.  It's a stick shift with four on the floor.  Introducing Miss Candy Cane!!!

My recovery has been a verrrrrry long one, but I'm glad to see myself making progress.  It'll be 4 months on the 21st since I went flying up the stairs and found to my amazement that I don't bounce.

I did a massive amount of on line shopping this year.  The little time I spent in stores was stressful for me but I was treated very kindly by all of those I came into contact with.
Since I have been in handicapped/physically challanged state these last months I notice things that I never have before and I'm sure most of you don't either.  I would like to give praise to Joanne Fabrics for being the most handicap friendly retail store I've come into contact with.  They have motorized carts and wheel chairs available.  The isles are wide and the staff very accommodating   Other retailers should take notice and follow suit.   The worse experience that I had was believe it or not at a funeral home.  Their idea of a handicap accessible bathroom was a bar next to the toilet   Good Lord if someone tried to get in that stall with a wheel chair they would still be stuck in there!

I know these are things we don't think about unless they are needed.  We all need to remember that day may come a lot sooner than we can imagine.  We are boomers.  I have a feeling  one day in the not to distant future you will be seeing a lot of changes in that regard.

Again, I used Pinterest inspiration for this outfit.  The only thing I changed was adding a scarf instead of a necklace and that was pure laziness since the scarf was right next to me.  I try to get dressed in a decent outfit everyday even knowing I won't leave the house and the only person that will see me is the Man.  There have very few days of leggings and flannel shirts.

Hope all of you are winding down your holiday preparations.  Don't forget to stop and smell the season.

  1. You do look fabulous! How fun that you decorated your cane.
One of the reasons I decided to take yoga was to help myself prepare for the future and hopefully stay in fairly good shape. However, you never know what can happen and we should be prepared mentally for those changes.
It is good to see you and know that you are recovering. The stick 4 on the floor is much better than Mr. Walker, I am sure.

  2. Your handy-candy cane is really cute and festive! I am glad you are making progress- I can imagine it must be hard having suddenly had to slow down and do things at a speed you are not accustomed to- long may your recovery continue to be positive!
I'm glad that many shops are helpful and considerate to your mobility difficulties but that's pretty bad about the toilet with the bar!!
I really like the flowingness (if such a word exists!) of the cardigan, nice colour too!
"Don't forget to stop and smell the season"- yes, I like this- I WILL!x

  3. I love the candy cane! I also like what you've done with the waterfall cardi; I have a heck of a time styling those, and somehow, I never think of jeans.

  6. I'm so glad to see you've upgraded from a walker to a walking cane....progress!! Your waterfall sweater reminds me of one I used to own and love, but accidentally shrunk in the wash. They're just like a warm hug on a winter day, aren't they?
