Final Cut

A couple of days I blogged about what to wear to the wedding I'll be attending this weekend.  I put out several options see previous blog.  First of all I would like to thank those of you that took the time to comment.  I appreciate each and everyone of them.  I still wasn't satisfied with my choices.  Not to beat it into the ground but shoes are damn critical when making outfit selections and the lack of flats in my closet were making it almost impossible to put together a look that I didn't feel frumpy in.

So, this morning I braved the elements and headed back to my closet.  I have been in the process of trying to  spend some time everyday organizing and purging.  Well, as I was going through the tops section I found this sparkly blue (Yes Cobalt Blue) top and remembered that black and cobalt were a trend this fall/winter.  I also stumbled on these over the knee boots.  I knew I had them but I was afraid they would be to hard to get on and off my jimmy leg.  Well, I was wrong they slip right on and off and since that adds a pair of wearable flats to my wardrobe that makes me so VERY happy.  So now the question is what to put these pieces with.  I finally looked to my dresses and decided to try a black sheath.  I've had this dress for years.  I think I was a little frightened to actually try it on.  Thanks Carrie See inspiration from Expressive Style.  About 1/2 hour later I had on all the pieces and rolled over to the mirror............I love it and don't think there is one bit of frump in this look.  I added a belt for waist definition and I also have a black, short, fur, jacket to throw on top.

Now all I have to do is decide on jewelry.  A little tricky due to glitzy top which I'm not used to wearing.  I have a couple of days to work that out.

So, what do you think?  Did I knock the frump off her walker?  Same as the other day I have no structure garments or make up on...........Please ignore the red fuzzy sock on the jimmy leg!

  2. Oh yeah, you knocked frump right out of the ring. I think this outfit is so pretty. I was going to weigh in on your other post but got caught up in genealogy and let time get past me. I think this outfit is better than all the others.

  7. You look beautiful and perfect for a wedding. Best of all, you're confident in this outfit and that will shine through. I know blogger envy is a bit shameful...but I'll admit it, I wish I owned that top!! :) The belt is a great touch. I hope you'll take another photo with the jewellery you end up choosing!

PS Will you decorate your walker for the holidays??
