Festival Thrifting And My New Hat

We went back to the festival yesterday afternoon.  I had the bright idea to walk the 8-10 blocks.
It was soooo...  hot.  Another "what was I thinking moment"!
We managed to enjoy ourselves and this time feasted on pizza and wine!  Just gotta love summer time.  I'm off the festivals for a while or nothing will fit me!
This outfit is thrifted from my neck down.  The fedora was a new Saturday purchase and I was so happy to finally lay my hands on it.  I guess I have a "big" head so it was hard to find one that fit.
It has a black band so I just tied a scarf that matched my lime, green skirt..  The top is so easy and breezy.  It's made out of gauze so I have to wear a cami underneath.  It's a long tunic so tying it on the sides gives it some versatility.  Shoes also thrifted.  All from Goodwill!   Necklace was a thrift find from the Florida gulf coast.

Linking up with Patti and Monday Mingle

Outfit Stats:
Top:        $2.50
Skirt:       $1.50
Shoes:     $2.00
Necklace: $1.00
Hat from farmers market $15.00

Goofy shot!  Maybe it was the wine!

  1. Love the color of this skirt. The hat looks great with the scarf tied on it. And I love how you've tied up your tunic to give it a whole new look.

    1. Lisa,
Thanks, for some reason I'm into knotting everything this summer!

  2. I just love your "cool" look. It looks so much like summer. Here in Mid-North Indiana it may be up to 100 degrees soon. I am going to get a fedora, trying to keep that scorching sun away. Stay cool!!!

    2. I live close to Purdue University, on the Tippecanoe River. I love the area, but the shopping isn't so great. I love to go to Michigan City to the outlet mall, or to Indianapolis to Marshall's. I would like to thrift, but can't find any stores that are worth-while. You always look great!!!!

    3. I've heard there is a Goodwill outlet in Indy. Not for the faint of heart and take gloves. Also told Carmel had a nice GW.

  10. You look so tanned and lovely! Great idea about adding a scarf around the band to change it up- tried a few different looks with my straw fedora yesterday after reading your comment- so versatile! I love summer festivals- not the best for the waist line though ;)

    1. thanks sweetie! I guess I'm lucky for someone as pale as the moon I do tan easily and well. Haven't been out on the lake at all this year. Hoping to see a little water action this weekend.

  11. OH Tammy I have the opposite problem! MY head is too small ;) I've tied scarves around hats the way you do, but it's to keep them on my head, haha. Great idea to match your scarf to your skirt. (aside: I really like the wicker furniture behind you with those colourful cushions!)

    1. I thrifted all of the cushions then spent quite a few evenings sewing the covers. I am quite happy with the results! thanks for noticing!
