Happy Valentines Day to One and All!!!

As some of you know I started a new job this week.   Yesterday it was 11 hours of miscombobulation  (I'm sure not a real word but makes a point!) it actually was 11 hours of hell!   Today it was only 10 1/2.  so I look forward to the 8 1/2 hr days and will work extremely hard to get there.

I really wanted to post this tonight because I got my Valentine gift from the Man.
Now mind you, I gave him a lot of leeway.  Like I kinda of sorta picked it out and ordered it myself..  The reason it became my gift is he asked me what I wanted during the time I was trying to place the order.  Ask and you shall receive!   He asked and I answered.  Yep, that's what you are getting me this year.  I don't think I have ever done that before.  I think I am on a roll!

I have to talk about this incredible cape.  It's baby, alpaca wool  and warm and snugly.  It buttons up the front, has beautiful crochet trim and a self scarf.   I have been searching all winter for a brown one.  When I saw it on their blog Two Birds Boutique I was so excited.  I started checking their Etsy site, Two Birds Etsy shop every day until it was listed.
Not only did the package arrive within a couple of days (free shipping)  they included two beautiful scarves with a note that said they thought they would look great on me.  I'm wearing one tomorrow.
So if you are an Etsy buyer check out their site for incredible vintage items and great customer service.  I am pretty confident that I will be wearing this everyday for the rest of the winter.  And I have proclaimed that capes will be popular next year too!
I guess this is my first review of a product or store.  And I am 100% confident I will shop their store again.....

So, do you like surprises or controlled gifts!  Trust me ladies, the older I get the more the controlled situations I want!

  4. Alpaca is supposed to be one of the warmest natural fibers. I have always loved the camel color it is so very versatile. The cape looks lovely on you. I really love the outfit underneath. You look so very thin! Gorgeous!
As to the gifts. My husband realized a long time ago that he was better off asking me what I want rather than trying it on his own.
I hope your job gets less stressful and hopefully is better than the last job.

  12. The cape and outfit are both gorgeous on you.
I'm on the controlled gift bandwagon too. My husband and I are each just too particular about what we like, so either I tell him something I specifically want and he buys it for me online or I tell him to buy something for himself online from me. Or I just thrift and call it my present. haha Makes me perfectly happy doing it that way rather than us having to return things. Been down that road. There's no point.
Hope you get into a more peaceful groove with your job soon.
