Today is the 3rd day of spring. Some of you lucky ladies are already sporting some of your spring style while this Indiana girl was just debating on wearing a fur or tweed vest. Something is way wrong with this picture. I'm cold and want to wear my coral skinnies! Oh, whah, whah......what's a blogger to do? Well this blogger decided to go for the equestrian/lumberjack/country look.
I love my new riding boots and try to wear them as much as possible before the weather finally turns. I had my eye on them since late fall when they were $189.00. Now, those of you that know me realize that the possibility of me spending that kind of money on a pair of boots is about as close as me heading off to an afternoon Zumba class! I stalked those boots. Read all of the reviews and waited and waited......Finally they were down to $89.00 plus 20% off. I scooped in like a wild woman and, click they were mine. I guess in a way they were a good job getting a new job when you are 55 and using a cane present! I have a feeling these will be my close buddies for many winters to come.
Lately I haven't had the energy or motivation to blog. This time of years is kind of depressing. I'm sick of winter clothes and really want to bust out in some color but, this year the elements just don't want to cooperate. I started a spring Pinterest board and can't wait to start assembling some of the outfits. So for the time being I will just click over to Pinterest when I need some spring love. The standard of dress at my new job is even worse than my old one. I have to be careful not to dress to nice and I still get comments. I refuse to give in to the sweatshirt and jeans routine. No way, no how! This casual, mostly thrifted, outfit would in their minds be considered "to nice". I don't get it and I don't think I ever will. That just rolled out of bed look just doesn't work for me! And if the truth be known it doesn't work for them either!
I haven't taken an outfit shot in quite a while. This look appeals to me. After returning to work after 5 months off then 4 weeks later starting a new job I think I may have lost a few stress lbs.
I guess a little stress is good for the thighs!!
One last thing. Last week I was interviewed by Debbie at I Love my Lemonade Life. Debbie and I became friends a couple of years ago when we both started blogging. If you have a minute check out the article about my jewelry by clicking here Silverstyle Jewelry. Thank you Debbie!!!
Tammy, the boots look great! I think everyone's in the same boat right now...ready for it to start feeling like Spring.
ReplyDeleteI really like this outfit! Very chic.
ReplyDeleteI know it has been a tough winter for some of you...but let me tell YOU that YOU are looking amazing! I love this look...the boots are great!
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome, Tammy! I'm really glad we got to know each other through blogging. I've always enjoyed reading your blog. You're down to earth and have a great sense of humor that comes through in your writing. Good luck on the jewelry site...I love your stuff! Debbie @ ilovemylemonadelife.com
ReplyDeleteThose boots make you look about 11 ft tall Tammy! I'm glad they were finally reduced to a price you were comfortable with because they are beeeyoutiful (I love when they actually go up to the knee and not this several inches below business). I'm sorry your work environment isn't more conducive to how you like to dress. Though I find that sometimes, after a while, you kind of become that 'fun person' who dresses up more than the others and it's not because they think they're better it's just because it's so much a part of them, and it kind of becomes 'your thing'.
ReplyDeleteI totally hear ya about the weather not cooperating with seasonal outfits!! I've had the blog blahs too. C'MON spring!!
I'm an a*#$% for not commenting on the no-cane!! Go Tammy!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you back blogging and I am so with you GF on the depression thing! I have been feeling the same way; soooo sick of winter, and not very enthusiastic about my posts. lets hope some warm weather is around the corner.
