Happy to Be Alive!!!!!

Today is Monday and I'm damn happy to be alive.  I suppose that's an odd opening for a mini fashion blogger but that's how I felt all day.  I only worked 8 1/2 hours it was only kinda cold and I'm just happy!  Just wait til the weather is really nice your guess is as good as mine what my mood will be.

I've been thinking lately about what is expected out out of  women over 50.   It is actually a befuddlement  (I love crazy sayings)  If I dress young I look pathetic, if I dress old, I look well, old.  Why can't younger people just see us for our sense of style and our outlook on life.   Why do I have to be put in a category?

Today must have been a good brain cell day so then I thought no wonder they judge us.  We judge them.
And judge we do.  The models are to thin, the tatoos are disgusting, how can they think they look cool when they wear that????????????

So, from this day on I will judge no one.  Skinny, muffin top, tatted up or pants hanging off their ass.  It is a different time and not my job in life to worry about them.  They will come around.  Everybody get's a little thick around the middle and we all fight it and try to do the best we can.  I hope I'm around to see the end result.  I think it will be amusing!!!

Thanks for listening to my thoughts (mini rant?)  Tonight I am linking up to Two Birds: Inspiration Mondays, Not Dead Yet Style and Monday Mingle...........My God it's a veritable smorgasbord of link ups.  So dive in and have some fun.  What's life without a little fun?

Sooooo. Here are the outfit stats.
Jacket:  clearance $6.00
Scarf:  gifted ( I love it)
Jeans:  Clearanced $8.00
Pretty cool outfit for not to much moola!

Here is my inspiration!

  4. Love your outfit, and great shopping, Tammy! I like your outlook too - we will all get older if we're lucky, so why label and judge? You are a treat, and thanks for linking up to Visible Monday.

  5. What a great post! I think you've got a point....there is such a disconnect between generations of women and we (as the more mature?...at least in age) must claim our own responsibility in that disconnect. The younger look at our snarkiness like we're just jealous and we look at the younger like they're dingleberries! So I'm with you. No more judging. We all find our own way sartorially and really, is there really any such thing as bad taste? Taste is taste! Hugs and you look gorgeous!!! ~Serene

  6. Great to hear you so joyful! Since I spend so much time with younger girls and ladies, I really try to learn from them and hope they learn a little from me.....we are all growing and living together in this world and we are all connected..it's easy to forget that. You have given some great thoughts and reminders here. I know that a small portion of my joy comes from thinking in more youthful ways...I don't think I am headed to the tattoo parlor, but you just never know! :)

  10. I love that coat on you. You are spit-fire and I love it. I wear what I want and I don't care what people think. I have such a wide range of style, it depends on my mood. I am trying hard to make my daughter not care what people think, but it is challenging everyday. I am following you through GFC and would love it if you want to do the same.
